DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Despite this being a very brief holiday in Uganda, it is worthwhile because it is comprised of the exciting Gorilla tracking, sightseeing of the Great Rift Valley and adventurous game drives.

In the morning you will be received by our guide with whom you will embark on an 8 hours drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will have a stopover to see the Equator, the traditional drum makers, large banana and coffee plantations and the long horned Ankole cattle. Have lunch in one of the towns and then proceed with your journey.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Forest

Today you will set out on a full day Gorilla tracking in the tropical forest. Have a picnic lunch in the wild. Guided by forest rangers, you will track down the four remaining gorilla families of this exciting species.

Although this safari requires a lot of vigor and determination to trek through the thick and steep forest, coming face to face with these serene giants is worth the effort. Dine and sleep at Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Homestead or Community Bandas or Kisoro side at Kisoro Travelers rest hotel or Kisoro Heritage Guest House.

Day 3: Bwindi Climbing lions in Ishasha Queen Elizabeth

After breakfast you head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, through Ishasha taking a game drive an exciting game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will see the tree climbing lions in Ishasha region as you will be on your way to another exciting tracking in the Kyambura gorge that is the Chimpanzee trek. On your way, you will also come across a number of other species like the orchids, birds and monkeys are the other inhabitants in the park that you will manage to see.

You will check in at the lodge relax and have dinner and wait for the next day as it will have more adventures to unwrap.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Boat Cruise

The long awaited day for chimp tracking is today, after breakfast, you will set out for Kyambura gorge, which is the ground starting point for the tracking. Here you will be at 8am and you will be briefed on what to do and what not to do as far as chimps as concerned. After the trek, you will retire for lunch at lodge, relax and later embarking on an afternoon boat cruise on the spectacular Kazinga Channel.

Day 5: Game Drive and Continue to Kampala

Have an early morning 6 hours game drive to sightsee Queen Elizabeth’s big five which include: lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards and hippopotami. Go back to Kampala.
